The Side Hustle Internet Marketing Training – How to Make 50k Per Month Part Time

Last Updated on July 16, 2015 By Walter Akolo 42 Comments

Online Marketing Training in Kenya

Part of The Side Hustle Internet Marketing Seminar Attendees

What can I say about the Side Hustle online marketing training? Some things just can’t be expressed in words alone.

We learnt so much stuff and enjoyed ourselves to the full. See photos below.

This training was just top notch. From the speakers to the content, every minute of it was worth it.

Tim is a top-notch internet marketer who was also the keynote speaker on this event.

I was happy to be there both as a guest and a speaker and as usual, would love to share the experience.

What Was the Online Marketing Training All About?

The Side Hustle internet marketing training was a seminar held in Nairobi on 28th July, 2013.

The aim was to help the attendees to learn how to make Sh. 50,000 and above per month online, working part-time, which is what people commonly refer to as a side hustle.

The training was being run by Timothy Maina of the Brandstorm Network. Tim also doubles as an internet marketer and an entrepreneur, both online and offline.

The entrance fee to the event was Sh. 1500 but once we got out, we all agreed that this was way below the value we got from the training, it was worth much more.

You can now get it for only Sh. 800.

Internet Marketing Lessons Learnt

Ever heard of stuff like squeeze pages, autoresponders, OTOs, upsells, downsells, JV, sales pages etc? Do you know of any affiliate platforms that can pay you even 75% commissions?

This wasn’t the generic training that taught the kawaida things about internet marketing. This was totally something unique.

The stuff we were learning includes information that the top affiliates in the world are using – talk about people like Mike Lantz, Jeff Johnson, Mark Ling, Chris Farrell among others. It is what I would call, the real stuff when it comes to internet marketing in Kenya, and even worldwide.

Some of the lessons learnt included:

Different ways of making money online

These included some of the stuff you know e.g. freelancing websites, selling products among others. The good thing is that he introduced us to some other new cool ways of making money online. I can say that he simply just brushed through this part since the main aim was to help people make big bucks online with a side hustle (part time business).

Building a web agency

This was the real deal.

We were there with some of the top Kenyan marketers and we were all silent learning about stuff that had never occurred to us. I remember the hours flying by like seconds since there was a lot of new, awesome material to learn from.

How would you feel if you had your own, big-time, one person agency running like a real professional agency with multiple staff? Yes, that’s the feeling we got from the training.

We learnt some incredible stuff about:

  • Branding – This was huge. You can earn 10 times more than what you earn if you just brand yourself right.
  • Getting clients – he actually gave us a template that we can use when bidding for jobs or sending proposals
  • Charging clients – What we should charge for some services with an international agency. The list of charges made the prices we offer out here seem like peanuts. Imagine getting paid $600 for a job that you outsourced to someone else for $10
  • Marketing – Getting joint ventures and affiliates from the right, world class programs
  • …and much much more

What I personally loved the most about this part is that we were given all the secrets that all the trusted professionals use. This included some ‘heavy duty’ list of websites where we could get stuff at insanely low amounts and sell them to customers at 10 or even 20 times the price.

Other Speakers

The other speakers apart from Tim were Paula Thayrow of KenyaMoneyOnline and myself.

My good friend Paula talked about autoresponders and how powerful they are in online business.

I talked about how to get paid online, withdrawing money from PayPal, and some tips to selling online.

Notably present in the seminar were Peter Mutiso of My Business Tricks,
Stephen Mwanza of Work Online Legit and my man Wilfred Imbukwa of Online Jobs Advice.

Fantastic Extras

Yes, there are some great extras that came with this package. These include:

  • Free web hosting for the first month and thereafter $5 per month (lower than most hosting providers)
  • Access to a mastermind group of top Kenyan bloggers and internet marketers where you’ll get professional solutions to your problems
  • Access to world class graphics from Maina+Studios you can use to apply for graphic design jobs
  • A list of free websites where you can get top notch services from
  • A bidding/proposal template that you can use when looking for jobs in sites like Freelancer, oDesk and Elance.

Final Thoughts and Photos

One of my key takeaways was Tim’s integrity. At the end of the training, he said, “If you feel like you’ve learnt nothing from the training, go to Melissa and ask her to give your 1500 shillings back, no questions asked.”

Of course, no one went to get back their cash. Why? The value of the training was much more than what we paid for.

Below are some of the photos of the event.

Good News – You Can Download the Training Pack

The good news is that you can get all that we learnt at the same price we paid. Most marketers would have doubled the price but Tim decided to maintain it at Sh. 800. To get at this price, kindly text me at 0720754933 or email me at walter@freelancerkenya.com and I’ll let you know how you can get it.

Note that this is totally risk free  due to its 30 day moneyback guarantee. In 30 days if you feel like you’ve learnt nothing, you can email me or Tim (you’ll already have his email ad) and he or I will refund you all your money.

Quite a wonderful piece on online marketing. Facebook has brought opportunities that most people will find useful in utilizing in their small business. It would be great to provide beginner insight is some of the techniques and terminologies used by Facebook to leverage an effective marketing experience.

      Hi Maurice

Glad you have an idea. I’d say you do some more research on each and see which one works best for you. Unfortunately it has to stem from your passion so hard to choose for you.

      Thanks

Hey Walter! I am seriously thinking this must be the best Kenyan blog on IM, hehe! I am glad that many Kenyans are getting on board the internet thing, it’s both fantastic, nice (and painful too sometimes!) Most of those things topics you listed that Kenyans learnt in the seminar are the cornerstones of internet marketing, and it took me months and months of endless reading, watching webinars, browsing WSOs like crazy, all alone, no mentor, frustrated somehow, suffered from information overload till things started to clear up. Thanks for your informative blog. If more of us Kenyans are involved in IM, western countries will start to recognize our credibility and offer us more chances. And….to all the newbies, hang on with Walter. The future shines,
    -Sam Kariuki here. Cheers!

      Hey Sam,

Thanks a lot for your kind words.

I am just like you, I had to go through the “harsh” climate, make mistakes and even LOSE 6 figures to get to where I am today.

I therefore started this blog to help people not to make the same mistakes I made.

It is true, keep it here, more great stuff coming up!

I cant believe it! After the conference I could not rest till I got a job online. Having been working for a private client who shut his website down early this year, I landed my first job on Odesk this week. Elated? Over the moon. I keep hearing Tim’s voice over and over urging me to go on. Thanks Walter for the valuable contributio.
