Hey Walter. You have very informative articles.I am a university student just starting out on the quest to make money online and have read two of your e-books.I have registered for various online money transfer banks e.g skrill, pesapal and payoneer and I’ve just opened a freelancer.com account.
Now the question is,how do I navigate swiftly in making bids on freelancer.com and ensuring the money is delivered and easily accesible to me?
And the milestone payment, how does it work?
    Thanks.

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Mikendiba. Thanks for your compliment. In Freelancer you need to show case your strengths and make sure you respond according to the client requirements. Avoid being too wordy and give promises you can keep. Also make sure you have a sample in your portfolio. Milestone payment is cash that is sent by the client to the system for you. You can’t access the cash till you complete the job. Also the client cannot cancel it. In case of issues the site moderates. It’s the safest way to earn on Freelancer. Thanks.

Hi Walter my m-pesa is registered using my mum’s id…can that money be transferred or they will want mine coz i normally use this to withdraw cash from mpesa

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Vivian. There is absolutely no problem with that. In the field where you should write your mpesa name put your mom’s. Thanks.

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Chris. Thanks for your kind words. You cannot send money from MPESA to Skrill, unless you use an agent. In case you need such services just TEXT me at 0720754933 and we can take it up from there. Thanks.

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Alf. There are a few sites that accept Skrill for payments. I don’t think the ones you’ve mentioned do. You can use it wherever you see it as a payment option.

  3. Alex says

Hi, Walter am a new freelancer. I had withdrawed my funds from freelancer to Skrill but it has taken me too long. Did yours work the same the first time you tried it?

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Alex. It takes some time to transfer from Freelancer if it is the first transaction. Others will be taking 2-3 days.

  4. says

Walter, I am just thinking the way i should have known about this simple withdrawal from skrill like 2 years ago. I have done transfers through financial institutions….the waiting…..the charges. Thank God for you so much. I believe there is a reason why things happen when they do.

    • Walter Akolo says

      Hi Ann

He he he…the service was started a few months ago. It wasn’t there 2 years back. However I agree that things happen at certain times for a reason.

      Thanks again and stay blessed.

hi walter?i real enjoy reading your informative articles;mostly with this skrill article.I wish skrill partner with paypal,we are really suffering..

    • Walter Akolo says

      Hi Frank,

      Thanks a lot.

It’s difficult for Skrill to ever partner with PayPal since they are competitors.

Anyway, we can never say never.

  10. Brian says

    Hey Walter,

Thanks for posting this article,it is simply fantastic. You have shown how to withdraw money from Skrill to Mpesa. I just need to know, can I deposit money to my skrill account using Mpesa?

        • Walter Akolo says

          Brian,

I did not deposit to Skrill. There are clients who pay me via Skrill. I also help people withdraw from Skrill and get their money instantly.

Why do you want to deposit to Skrill? You can do that via your bank. You put money in bank then “upload” to Skrill.

Or you can buy Skrill dollars from me.

          Thanks

  11. Conelius says

    Hi Walter,

This error keeps popping up a lot on Skrill iT to MPESA transfers:

‘‘Transaction failed. Please check if you entered a valid mobile number and try again.’’

I’ve tried to contact them regarding this bug and still waiting for their response, though their customer service has a very bad rating even on Better Business Bureau(BBB)!

    • Walter Akolo says

      Hey Cornelius,

It keeps going on and off. Even today it worked for some and did not work for others.

      My advice: Keep trying.

      Keep me informed

    ‘Dear ***** Odhiambo,

Your payment to +25472******7 with ID 1109236051 sent on Mar 26, 2014 5:10:53 PM has been cancelled because the mobile operator has rejected the transaction.

      Pole Odhiambo,

I am getting the same error right now. I guess they got too many transactions today or something. Let’s try tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for your kind words about the new look.

      Blessings

This is a great post. Very well written. Not many people would do this considering you are a skrill agent.
Ps. I like the new look.

  22. Ndanu says

Great post Walter. Very few people can do this; help others at the risk of losing a source of income. Way to go!

Most welcome Josef. I agree that PayPal should emulate this.

Polite note: Please be commenting using your name, e.g. instead of Josef2013, you can use Josef.

      Thanks once again bro.

  23. says

Surely my friend there is a thin line between helping and giving up your rights.Next you discover such a process please patent it otherwise the kenyan big shots will steal then commercialize it.

Am telling you this for You are my good friend. Nway God will bless you.But please patent your next invention. Think about it bro.

Your blog is more appealing to the eye.Its awesome.

Try something to do with withdrawing from paypal in sec.
Once again let my God akufungulie anga yako.

    • Walter Akolo says

      Hi Davy,

Thanks for your pointers and concerns.

I cannot patent this since it’s a Skrill.com product. I am just letting the world know how it works.

Of course if I was to invent something I would patent immediately.

I appreciate your kind words about my blog.

I already have a service that withdraws from PayPal in minutes, see it here http://freelancerkenya.com/services

      God bless you too bro

  26. Paul says

    Hi Walter,
Thanks for spreading the good news. I wonder though whether there is a fixed charge for withdrawing funds from Monybookers?

  27. says

    Yes Walter,

This is a fantastic method and works magic and thanks for sharing. When the Skrill partnered with mpesa, I knew they are going to do anything to redeem their name and try enhance their competitive advantage in the market

  28. rono says

Hello Walter, What is the maximum amount one can transfer from skill via the M-Pesa to a kenyan number? I was thinking of withdrawing 1300$$

    • Walter Akolo says

Hi Rono. I know M-Pesa has a limit of 100k on phone. You can send 40k to someone and do another transaction. In short you can do a maximum of 140k in a day. However you can do more if you keep sending to different MPESA accounts e.g. your wife’s, sister’s e.t.c.

  29. victornyorani says

Great new look – with some cool fancy tools too.

Now about the Skrill to Mpesa thing, I hope Paypal will do the same.

  30. timothy wanyoike says

    H Walter,
Is there a way to send cash from Paypal to Skrill? And is this method cheaper compared to payoneer? If you can compare this to methods we will appreciate.

    Thanks

    • Walter Akolo says

      Timothy,

I think Payoneer is cheaper for volumes of cash because of dollar rate. For less cash this method is way cheaper.

You can’t transfer PayPal directly to Skrill.

      • says

        HI Walter,
I just tried my eyes and i could not believe it. My Mpesa was loaded instantly!! no hassles just like that! no more waiting for days on end. Oh this feels so great!! Thanks for the information Walter.

        • Walter Akolo says

I totally understand you Samuel. I also went like woooooohoooooooooooooooo!!!! the first time I tried it. I was used to waiting for 3 to 5 days depending on the bank.

          You are most welcome, Noah.
