- The rates may not be ideal (and should not guide what you should charge clients in future). There are way better rates out there. To get the great rates, you need to work hard to get your own clients. Follow my guide here. I run this job alerts service because some people still value and would use these jobs in their journey.
- I do my best to vet all those who send job alert requests and I’ve not heard of anyone being scammed from them for a looong time. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do your due diligence to ensure you work smoothly with the client. Walter Akolo (and FreelancerKenya) are not liable to any disagreements/losses between you and the client.
- For those who have applied to many jobs and not gotten any, note that clients just need 2 or 3 guys while hundreds apply. Therefore either improve your writing or apply real fast before they get their match to increase your chances.
- We work at a principle of willing buyer, willing seller, therefore some prices may be lower than you expect. In case, for any reason you feel like the job alerts are not helping you, you can either wait for higher paying alerts, or unsubscribe as per the last point below.
- I send job alerts to all who are in the Writers’ Starter Pack and Job Alerts mailing lists. I also send to all my trainees. If you want to only receive blog updates (and not job alerts), you can unsubscribe from the above lists, and subscribe to only the FreelancerKenya mailing list When there, you’ll only receive a job alert when it’s coupled with a major announcement or update. But you won’t get most job alerts.
- In case you are the one looking for freelancers and want me to advertise on my mailing lists, see how to go about that on my services page.
- To STOP receiving these emails, unsubscribe or change subscriber options, click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the end of any email. It will be sad to see you go but I value your time and privacy.
