Hi Walter. I appreciate your great writing skills and guiding qualities, in fact, i am highly challenged. Well,of my concern is that i am kind of confused with the charges. Must i pay the sh. 1500 to get started? and how can you advice me in order to get started ASAP.?

Hey, Walter. I love your work. It is so helpful to writers out here.
However, I needed your assistance kidogo. I opened a Paypal account and linked it to my bank account (Equity). I later signed up for the Self Service Portal with Equity Bank and linked my bank account to my Paypal address. However, I later delinked my bank account from my Paypal account and deactivated the Paypal account. I used the email, from the deactivated Paypal account, to create another Paypal account. Going to my Equity Self Service Portal, I cannot get to delete my former Paypal account, which was a business account, and replace or link my account with the new Paypal account, which is a personal account though with the same address as the deactivated one.

      Hi Danson,

Thanks for your compliment. I’m humbled.

Walk in to any Equity Branch and fill the PayPal delinking form.

      All the best.

    • Walter Akolo says

      Hi Charles,

The best way to get a gig photo is first to browse through what others have used.

Here is what you can do:

      – Go to http://www.fiverr.com
      – On the search box type “Writer”
      – Open 5 or 6 results
      – See the kind of photos they’ve used
      – Go to sites like http://sxc.hu or http://www.morguefile.com and look for similar images
      – Choose a unique one and use it as yours

    • Walter Akolo says

      March 26, 2014 at 8:50 am

      Thanks Derick,

Get Paid Weekly seems scammy to me. I wouldn’t advice you to try it out.

Sadly, external web hosts seem to have more benefits than local ones. You can go local depending on your site’s needs and your budget.

I hear NairobiHost is one of the best local ones. You can check it out.

I personally use HostGator. You can join using this link https://freelancerkenya.com/go/hostgator

    • Walter Akolo says

      March 14, 2014 at 11:12 pm

      Hi Albanus,

If online, you can create a site similar to Ghafla! Kenya. Here you will need to put a lot of current content and photos.

If offline you can approach the different media houses and ask for spots in their team. You need to be very aggressive.

      All the best.

Hey Walter, you are doing a great job here, man. Just so everybody knows, I needed an academic writer yesterday and I told Walter this somewhere in the middle of the night via chat. He sent out an email blast and first thing in the morning (7AM people, I wasn’t even awake yet!) I received a call from a gentleman called Apollo saying he wants to do the assignment for me. I sent it to him and within 7hrs, I had an outstanding MLA formatted paper in my inbox. Apollo did an amazing job in very little time and Walter’s email blast found me the right contractor with no fuss at all! It’s a privilege to work with both of them. Just thought I’d share!

    • Walter Akolo says

      January 15, 2014 at 7:09 pm

Thanks Titus and I was glad to help you put up the site. Now I want to help you make money out of it.

The grammar is what I was talking about – you may need to go through each post and edit for grammatical errors. That affects usability. Otherwise, follow the other advice on monetization. Scroll below for the tips I gave you.

Once again, you will not make money without monetizing the site. People should buy something to put money in your pocket.

Keep working on traffic, lots of it.

Thanks and feel free to ask some more.

that is where I have some difficulties. how can I get the above formula to work for me.

    • Walter Akolo says

      January 12, 2014 at 12:38 am

      Hi Titus,

You need to create products that can fit almost all your readers e.g. ebooks, trainings, services, events e.t.c.

I hope you use Google analytics to study the habits of your readers. Once you know what they read most, offer a product that solves their problem.

There are a lot of grammar errors in your site, you may want to get a good proofreader and overhaul the whole website.

Finally, your traffic is too low, you need to use SEO, social media marketing and even paid advertising to get people to see your site.

      I hope this helps.
